Octave and Matlab comparison in terms of basic mathematics
Zahradník, Radek ; Grepl, Robert (referee) ; Krejčí, Petr (advisor)
How is mankind grow older, its knowledge about nature, which in it lives, is getting deeper. Unfortunately human brain in itself became short for solving modern problems and we have to help ourselves with computers and modern computerised methods. But computers themselves can not solve the problems. We need to equip them with adequate software. Goal of this work is to compare Octave and Matlab systems in part of compatibility and in the solvings of practical problems.

Kompatibilita zlepšování ukazatelů wellbeingu
Dlabaja, Zdeněk
In this master's thesis, one of the most modern concepts for monitoring wellbeing in an economic context is introduced – the Better Life Index by the OECD. This composite index, comprising 11 topics, addresses both material aspects of quality of life and other non-material areas. The aim of this thesis was to determine whether such areas of quality of life examined by the OECD are mutually compatible. This issue is explored in the analytical part based on correlation within time series of indicators and among static indicators of the Better Life Index. The results of the analysis are subsequently discussed and contextualized with other sources and the opinions of other authors. In conclusion, the main findings, and implications of this work for the recipients of the Better Life Index are presented.
Islam and the legal system of the Czech republic in the context of changes at the beginning of the twenty first century
Bullová, Veronika ; Kühn, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Maršálek, Pavel (referee)
Islam and the legal system of the Czech republic in the context of changes at the beginning of the twenty first century Abstract The theme of this diploma thesis is Islam and the Czech law in the context of the changes at the beginning of the 21st century. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the mutual compatibility of Islamic and Czech law. The introduction points out the fact that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. The first chapter introduces Islamic law, investigates its main characteristics and roots. The following chapter compares the chosen legal branches. The thesis tries to identify the points of conflict between Islamic and Czech law and cites concrete examples. In the realm of religious freedom, the thesis concludes that by the reason of the determination of punishment for apostasy from faith and the absence of equal access to persons of different religious beliefs, or to persons without faith, the Islamic legal legislation is not compatible with the Czech legal legislation. The thesis also examines from both views the area of private law legislation, concretely the family law legislation, the inheritance law, and the law of obligations. In the area of family law, the thesis concludes that the Islamic legal legislation is not compatible for the reason of the unequal status of...
Compatibility of selected dental alloys with magnetic resonance imaging
Linetskiy, Igor ; Hubálková, Hana (advisor) ; Suchánek, Jakub (referee) ; Dostálová, Taťjana (referee)
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is one of the up-to-date and perspective methods of diagnostic medical imaging. It is highly valued for absence of ionizing radiation, non-invasiveness, acquiring of highly accurate images of hard and especially soft tissues in any plane. It is a method of choice in central nervous system imaging. Nowadays it is used in diagnostics of other diseases in the maxillofacial area. The major shortcoming of MRI is interaction of magnetic fields of MRI system with metallic objects present in human body. As a result, this may lead to their heating, movement, and also to imaging artifacts. Since different metallic constructions (fixed bridges, dental implants, splints, plates, orthodontic appliances, etc.) are often used in the contemporary dentistry, the problem of their compatibility with MRI is relevant. The aim of this study was to validate the compatibility of dental alloys with MRI, classify the materials according to the degree of compatibility and to establish the range of their possible negative impact on quality of MRI in head and neck area. In order to find dental metals and alloys, General Health Insurance Company code- list, catalogues of manufacturers' and Prague dental labs were used. Measurement methods of magnetic susceptibility (MS), electric conductivity...
Compatibility study of excipients and active substance in tablet mixtures
Křikava, Jakub ; Šklubalová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Svačinová, Petra (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of: Pharmaceutical technology Mentor doc. PharmDr. Zdeňka Šklubalová, Ph.D. Consultant: Mgr. Daniel Pěček Student: Jakub Křikava Title of Thesis: Compatibility study of excipients and active substance in tablet mixture The aim of this work was to study interactions between lubricants and disintegrants used in the tablet mixtures for direct compression with high content of a drug. Binary mixtures of the drug and a selected excipient were prepared in the 1:1 ratio and that used in tablets. Modified tablet mixtures in which one of the excipients was excluded were prepared as well. The mixtures were subjected to the stress tests at the higher temperature/humidity. The influence on the thermal characteristics, porosity, the tensile strength and disintegration time of tablets was studied. Results showed that crospovidone interacts with a drug what worsened the properties of tablets and this negative effect was forced in the presence of stearic acid. Combination of crospovidone and stearic acid in tablet mixture increased the tablet tensile strength and disintegration time significantly. This combination cannot be recommended for the preparation of tablets. In case of the used drug, crosscarmellose sodium represents the better disintegrant.
Production and elimination of superoxide radical in relation to the compatibility of snails and trematodes
Cibulková, Lucie ; Skála, Vladimír (advisor) ; Nývltová, Eva (referee)
Almost all trematodes use snails as the intermediate host in their life cycles. To survive within the host, they have to efficiently avoid defense reactions of its immune system. The most important effector cells, haemocytes, produce reactive oxygen species with the first molecule known as superoxide radical. Various snail species produce different levels of these radicals in relation to the compatibility with the invasive trematode species. The parasite decreases the levels of toxic radicals by using antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase which catalyzes transformation of superoxide radical into hydrogen peroxide. This dismutation reaction is the first step during the oxidative burst and likely influences survival of trematodes within the host. Based on the current knowledge the production and elimination of superoxide radical in relation to the compatibility between snails and trematodes have been described thoroughly for a few models such as for example Biomphalaria glabrata-Schistosoma mansoni. However, this interaction appears to play a key role and, therefore, it deserves more attention in another models as well. Key words: trematodes, snails, compatibility, haemocytes, oxidative burst, antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase, superoxide radical
